Where and what: Using smartphones to predict next locations and applications in daily life

چکیده
This paper investigates the prediction of two aspects of human behavior using smartphones as sensing devices. We present a framework for predicting where users will go and which app they will use in the next ten minutes by exploiting the rich contextual information from smartphone sensors. Our first goal is to understand which smartphone sensor data types are important for the two prediction tasks. Secondly, we aim at extracting generic (i.e., userindependent) behavioral patterns and study how generic behavior models can improve the predictive performance of personalized models. Experimental validation was conducted on the Lausanne Data Collection Campaign (LDCC) dataset, with longitudinal smartphone data collected over a period of 17 months from 71 users.

These days, the most important areas of research in many different applications, with different tools, are focused on how to get awareness. One of the serious applications is the awareness of the behavior and activities of patients. The importance is due to the need of ubiquitous medical care for individuals. That the doctor knows the patient's physical condition, sometimes is very important. O...
متن کاملAutomatic Annotation of Daily Activity from Smartphone-Based Multisensory Streams
We present a system for automatic annotation of daily experience from multisensory streams on smartphones. Using smartphones as platform facilitates collection of naturalistic daily activity, which is difficult to collect with multiple on-body sensors or array of sensors affixed to indoor locations. However, recognizing daily activities in unconstrained settings is more challenging than in cont...

Objectives: Changes in the Range of Motion (ROM) are essential criteria in determining the severity of spinal disorders and could be effective in predicting pain progression. Instruments to measure the ROM are costly and unavailable in most therapy settings. While there is a tendency in therapists to use their smartphones instead, there is no report to measure the suitability of smartphones to ...
متن کاملWomen with hereditary breast cancer predispositions should avoid using their smartphones, tablets and laptops at night
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women, both in the developed and developing countries. Women with mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes have an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancers. Recent studies show that short-wavelength visible light disturb the secretion of melatonin and causes circadian rhythm disruption. We have previously studied the health effects of exposure...

Neutralization of external stimuli in dynamic systems has the major role in health, life, and function of the system. Today, dynamic systems are exposed to unpredicted factors. If the factors are not considered, it will lead to irreparable damages in energy consumption and manufacturing systems. Continuous systems such as beams, plates, shells, and panels that have many applications in differen...
